Celebrating Excellence: Universal SEND Services Online CPD Autism Units Shortlisted for the Teach Secondary Awards 2026!
We are thrilled to announce that our recently launched, free online autism-specific CPD units, developed in collaboration with Whole School SEND, have been shortlisted in the SEND category of the Teach Secondary Awards 2026!
Funded by the Department for Education (DfE), alongside the original 20 units, these five bite-sized, sub-one-hour learning units offer evidence-informed guidance to help education professionals navigate social dynamics, emotional regulation, sensory processing, and communication preferences.
Designed for maximum impact across all phases, from Early Years (EY) and primary through to secondary and Further Education (FE), these modules equip practitioners with actionable knowledge to identify needs early and implement universal, quality-first adaptations right in the classroom.
Therefore, through this training, secondary staff can deepen their understanding of common learning barriers, including processing speed, social-emotional challenges, sensory sensitivities, and communication difficulties. Crucially, the programme reinforces best practice through an emphasis on co-production and Preparation for Adulthood (PfA).
We extend our gratitude to our dedicated teams and partners whose hard work made these innovative resources possible. The impact speaks for itself: 99% of educators report boosted confidence, and 93% cite direct improvements in their classroom practice.
We look forward to November when the winners will be announced. In the meantime, we invite secondary practitioners to explore these free units today and to look out for more transformative units under the theme of neurodiversity this year.
